Innovative work


INNOVATIVE WORK




INTRODUCTION
                                                                                                             As part of B.Ed curriculum, i have done an innovative work based on my subject Mathematics.
'My innovative work is clinometer' I made clinometer based on chapter 'Trigonometry' in tenth standard. Clinometer help to find the angle of elevation and using it  the height of the buildings,tree or tower can be measured, without actually measuring it.


CLINOMETER

Clinometer is an instrument that measures vertical slopes , usually the angle between ground or the observer and a tall object.


CONSTRUCTION OF CLINOMETER

STEP 1 : Get a protractor with one straight edge.
STEP 2 : Tape a straw along the straight edge of protractor.
STEP 3 : Tie a string through the small hole on the straight that in directly across from 
the 0° degree mark on the protractor.This may also be labelled as 90 degree.
STEP 4 : Attach a bead or small stone at the end of the string.
CALCULATION

My aim is to find the height
of the flag post in the model. Angle of elevation is found using clinometer and it is 50(140 - 90) degree.Using the trigonometric function tangent, the height of the flag post is got as approximate 55.15 cm.



CONCLUSION
For my innovative work, I make working clinometer . We can test clinometer to find the height of the flag post in the model.The value measured with the help of clinometer is narro difference between true value.This innovative work is helpful in 10th standard students.
